What is Digital Factory?

Digital Factory is the open innovation platform of CA Auto Bank, created and promoted in collaboration with I3P, the Incubator of the Polytechnic of Turin.

After the success of its previous call for startups, held between 2020 and 2022, the new edition of Digital Factory presents itself as a permanent platform, always open to applications from innovative startups and SMEs, with the aim of identifying the best solutions and technologies that can contribute decisively to the digital transformation of CA Auto Bank.

Specifically, the following application areas are considered of particular interest:

  • Artificial Intelligence: automation, machine learning, big data, predictive analysis, customer experience.

  • Banking: digital payments, customer care, cyber security, data science, blockchain, fraud detection;

  • Mobility: new mobility solutions, vehicle data collection and analysis, AI marketing, electric mobility, knowledge management;

  • Digitalization: technological solutions that can favor business digital transformation;

  • Sustainability: emission reduction, ESG, energy efficiency and asset optimization.

Who can apply for Digital Factory?

Both active companies and pre-revenue companies can apply. Groups of people not represented by a company (e.g., startups not yet established) cannot apply.

Pre-revenue companies can also apply if they are in a stage of ideation and product concept, about to develop a prototype in the short term.

How can I participate in Digital Factory?

Participation in the Digital Factory initiative is free. To apply your project, you need to visit the website and fill out the application form in all its parts.

The requested information is divided into sections:

What are the areas of interest for CA Auto Bank?

With Digital Factory, CA Auto Bank intends to explore existing innovations on the Italian and international territory with the aim of identifying the best new solutions and technologies that can contribute decisively to its digital transformation.

Specifically, the following application areas are considered of particular interest:

What is the evaluation process for an application?

All proposals collected through the form on the website will be processed and evaluated. Each proposal will be collected in a project card. The Digital Factory team will carry out a preliminary analysis to verify the presence of all the necessary information to proceed with a technical evaluation, reserving the right to request integrations to the documentation sent.

I3P and CA Auto Bank will carry out a technical evaluation of each proposal collected to identify the degree of maturity of the company, the potential benefit of the proposed use case compared to other solutions available on the market, the interest of the proposed application area and the applicability of the solution within CA Auto Bank.

The candidates who have proposed the most interesting use cases will then be contacted directly by the Digital Factory team to build together a Business case to present to the managers of CA Auto Bank.

Candidates will thus have the opportunity to negotiate with CA Auto Bank a collaboration agreement both with the aim of testing the proposed use case, and for the possible negotiation of the proposed solution.

What is the “Security Solution Design Document”?

The “Security Solution Design Document” is a document that is requested during the compilation of the application form for Digital Factory.

In this document, the candidate will have to describe the software and hardware architecture of the proposed solution, with a focus on security measures.

The upload of the “Security Solution Design Document” during the application phase allows the Digital Factory team to evaluate the adherence of the software and hardware architecture of the proposed solution with the mandatory security and data protection requirements for CA Auto Bank.

If the document is not provided already during the application phase (form completion), it will still be requested as an integration in the subsequent evaluation phase of the collected applications

What opportunities does applying to Digital Factory bring?

Those who apply on the Digital Factory platform will have the opportunity to come into direct contact with CA Auto Bank and the group’s controlled companies: in fact, the initiative presents itself as a first step between the parties involved.

Specifically, participants who have proposed the most interesting use cases will have the opportunity to build a Business case, together with the Digital Factory team, to present to the managers of CA Auto Bank to negotiate a collaboration agreement.
